Welcome to the Jubilee Furniture blog where each week we show you some of our current inventory! We also have our Furniture Gallery as another resource and are starting to use Facebook to provide updates and news too!
Speaking of Facebook – a friend of my husband’s posted the following earlier this week:
One of the Christmas songs we're listening to referred to holiday celebrations as a "jubilee". This confused Lily as the only other place she has heard the word is in the name of a used furniture store nearby. The following conversation ensued:
Lily: Wait, jubilee means 'party'? That doesn't make sense.
Sophie: No, it really means 'celebration'.
Camille: Is it a celebration when we buy chairs?
Me: No. That's a different use. It's talking about something in the Bible. It was...um... It's sort of hard to explain. It's when God told people to...um...
Sophie: Buy used furniture?
Me: Yes. That's it exactly.
Oh man – that is so cute! So what furniture does God want you to buy? Let’s take a look!
let’s start off with a bang! Here are a set of Natuzzi black leather recliners which are so comfortable you will never want to get up! Priced $425 each (retail for over $1,300 new). Plus they’re simply gorgeous! Comfortable AND gorgeous? That’s a win/win in my book!
continuing along – here is another beautiful piece of furniture! This COPPER TOP coffee table has a black metal base and the top has this amazing patina that is so, so good. Me want. Priced $275
according to our antique expert – this Boston rocker has the original stencil (very faded) and, she thinks, is museum worthy! Priced $175
fantastic rattan/wicker chair and ottoman – both in excellent condition – priced $165 for the set
wonderful Rowe brand over-sized chair – needs to be spot cleaned but otherwise in great shape – priced $95
the print on this Crate & Barrel loveseat is AMAZING – looks to be in great condition – priced $165
oops – sorry for that really bad first photo! This is a pale green, micro-suede sofa in excellent condition (could use some thrown pillows to soften the strong lines of the piece). Priced $215
small three drawer retro dresser for $45
two blue slipper chairs – from what I could see they both looked good – priced only $35 each (woot for amazing deals!)
this too is priced only $35 – and it’s a lovely glass top, wrought iron base entry or sofa table in great condition
buttery tan loveseat – both sides recline – there is one spot where the leather is slightly coming off – priced $65
if you know how to clean leather – or if you know how to re-stain leather – then this three piece sectional (one section is a sleeper) is for you! Priced $125 for the whole thing and it’s in EXCELLENT condition - well except for how stained the leather is (I’m sure this was an extremely expensive sectional new). Sweet butler’s coffee table (top lifts off) for $45
Haha I LOVE this adjustable oak and smoked glass coffee or end table. Priced $30
LOVE this one piece vintage china cabinet (in excellent condition) priced $165 (what’s with my photo taking ability this week? If furniture had heads I’d be cutting ‘em off right and left!)
the tag on this piece said “demi lune chest” and I had to look it up and – dang – if that’s not what these half moon pieces are called (learn something new every day!). I love the shape – but it needs some work. Top is pretty bad and it’s missing three of the drawer pull rings. But the $70 price tag should make it worth the effort to fix up!
FABULOUS twin size raised bed with NINE drawers, shelves and a pull out step stool, All in excellent condition – priced $235
small black table with one leaf and four chairs – all for $85
in my defense – this piece was hard to get a good photo of – it’s a way cool baker’s rack with painted tiles. I noticed one of the small tiles on the side was cracked (but not sure if any others were) but, otherwise, in good shape. Priced $95
absolutely gorgeous Statton Trutype Americana ONE piece, lighted, cherry wood china cabinet – note the cool fractured glass (not sure if that’s what it’s called. Textured? Crackled?). Really a beautiful piece. Priced $285
this formica topped table with one leaf and four chairs was made by The Keller Mfg. Co. Inc. and it’s in excellent condition and priced $375 for the set
this octagon shaped curio cabinet is lighted and the wood is actually plastic which makes it super light weight AND inexpensive! Priced only $25
